Yes, the LS2 is superior but the LS1 has a ton of potential.

and next the stang....my daily driver/ fiance's car.

P.S. I posted this in the S/S section because I know it attracts a diverse group of car enthusiast. Mods please move it if its inappropriate.
Nice cars, thank you for posting. I owned an 05 GTO as well.

My question is why not use the GTO as your DD? More comfortable, more room, nicer interior. Seems like the better choice for DD duties.

I'm tempted to pick up a used GTO for a DD.

I got the LS1 Gto for 21k with only 7500 miles on it last year. The fiance wanted a mustang and we got the sixer for 18k with low miles. Redneck97, I am graduating college in December and hope to attend Law School in the Fall of 2008, Im 23...how old are you. There are GTO'S out there cheap.

I used the mustang as a dd for a few reasons.

1. Gas mileage......surprisingly if you run the gto in 6th gear at about 75 mph you get really good fuel mileage, about 25 mpg. The thing is, I cant keep my foot out of it and I really dont drive on the highway that much, maybe once a week.

2. The GTO I have is one of 322 produced with the color, transmission (6speed), and black interior, so its kinda rare. I know it wont ever be worth anything, but I wanted to try to keep the miles relatively low.

3. I plan on doing some major mods to the goat.
