RE: 5.0 vs a 350z
Umm, nice race. But seriously, your Fox is nothing but a high 14 second car at best, at best. The 350Z auto runs low 14's stock. I dont see how you ran within a car of him, but we all know driver mods are the lacking aspect in ever race.

well as i said i was shocked to ****... once i get a quote from the body shop for body work to it, itll decide weather im gonna go ahead and do more work to the car or just scrap it and buy another fox. once i get everything on the car i have just laying around i should be able to rip his *** easily and maybe finish on top

it is my understanding that a car that is designed to race goes faster just leaving it in drive, whereas a car designed for comfort is faster with selectshift
there was something else besides him just putting it in manual shift mode.... because it doesn't affect performance at all on a Z, perhaps a better launch?

Used to.I had an '06 6-sp Coupe. The autos can be left in drive, or dropped into sportshift mode, which allows you to shift manually. The difference in drive and manumatic mode is negligible at most, so I'm guessing the first race, he goofed the launch, or maybe wasn't WOT the entire time. There shouldn't be that difference between him racing you in Drive and Sportshift mode. And I'm kinda surprised he beat you that bad. When i had mine, I knew a guy w/ a '91 GT w/ intake, headers, exh, and 3.73's (he claims) and he'd hang w/ my lightly modded Z pretty well. Oh well, respectable death.......
