I'm just cruising along on the highway almost home, when i get to my favorite stretch of 99 (IN RI) and all of a sudden i see a car coming up behind me fast then switch lanes speratically. I see it is a eclipse new body style so i give chace to see if it wanted to run. I run her down we're on a dead straight away no cars around So we both gun it to about 110 and i let off about 3 cars ahead. It started to pull on me for a while i was actually a lil impressed that it kept up what do these things run? it was my frist eclipse kill of the new body style

 

they are actually semi quick, good kill

 

from a stop they are horrible.
from a roll they are pretty impressive.

assuming ur talkin bout the gt (v6) that is. i believe they trap mid to high 90s stock.

 

I've read a few long term tests on the car and they seam to trap a little better when they break in. M/T got 100 MPH out of one with 40 grand on the clock.

 

They trap an average of 97-98ish depending on MT or Auto. Off the Line they lag, and do not get traction. However, top end is no joke. Those cars will easily see 145+. If you kept going, it would have passed you. The high gear in the new Eclipse is very impressive. I have hit 145 in my gf's 06 Eclipse Gt, and was only at 4K, out of 6,200.

 

Nice Kill... I think best stock trap i've seen was 101 or 102.. otherwise they tend to be right around the same traps as a stock new edge or lt1 car.

 

A newer style Eclipse was at test and tune this past Friday night. Very quiet car, soit wasprobably stock, at least stock exhaust. Anyway, he ran a 14.1. No idea what his trap speed was. I was pretty shocked to tell the truth. He seemed to get off the line pretty decently from what I could tell. He was lined up with a New edge and the Eclipse stayed with him until the 8th mile or so, then the GT started pulling him. GT was a 13.8.

I'm not a bigfan of those cars, but their not too bad in the power dept.

 

There nice cars. But they sure would benafit from a turbo. Mitsu would finally have a car to apeal to the masses and would be more than competitive with sports cars in it's price range!

 

Turbo with an AWD model would be pretty nice too. Would give us all some competition.
