Are you on street tires? I have 245/50/18 street tires. I lower my rears to 19psi and up my fronts to 40.
Many people will tell you not to do a burn out on street tires however i feel as though i have to do a small quick burnouts cuz most of the time my tires are COLD! which equals a ton of wheel hop.
How are you coming out of the hole? rev up? idle? what rpm?
You wana learn how to slip the clutch or "feather" it. You want to relase it quickly but not drop it and if you have to it. Hold it for a SPILT sec at the graping point and it should hook!
when i do it right, I rev up to 2 1/2, feather the clutch..get a split sec of wheel spin and TRACTION. You can see below my best time is a 1.9 60ft and i ran a faster time w/ a stock gt
I would think 2.0 60ft would give you 12's, just get out there and pratice.

well first i reved to about 3k rpm and about dropped the clutch i was soo exited about my first pass and of course didnt get traction....after that i fethered alittle from 2 1/2...that was on my best time....then droppped the clutch from 2k the 3rd time. i was accually looking at slicks on online....they seem to go for a little over $600....thats the rim and tire combo.
I appreciate the advise guys...yall keep it coming if ya got more...thx

With a little more practice you should'nt have a problem getting a 12.9-13.0 consistently out of those street tires, maybe more. Of course DRs or slicks will make a world of difference too. Are you powershifting or taking it easy and it what RPM are you shifting at?
That 2.21 isn't a terrible 60ft considering it was your first trip.A 2.0-2.1 is an average 60ft for most people on street tireswith few suspension mods. Sounds like you're leaving a little to hard by releasing the clutch to quick. Rev to 2.5k rpm and roll off the clutch quick, but definetly don't dump it. Shift hard and shiftas close to your rev limit as possible. Alot of people say not to rev that high because you get out of your powerband, but by the time you mash the clutch and change gears, you'll have already dropped 2-300 rpm.Launching at 3k is pushing the limits of yourcar's tractionuntil you get somedifferent tires.
