SRT face off
I got into a war of words with a srt owner , which i never had anything agenst the car just when i said FWD is not for drag racing he went off on me. So he wants to race ( it will take place at the track) Heres the thing i said "NO" my car currently is not a macth for a well modded srt ,however iam rebuliding the c4 now getting it ready for the new powerplant which is 1972351C 4v headed 11:1 comp TRW forged pistons with molly rings, cranecams 579" lift cam, adjustable roller rockers 454chevy type belive it or not, torker intake, 750 holley dp, Hooker longtubes made for swap into foxbody, custom 6qt oilpan. I will be running a bulit C4 manual VB TCI superstreet fighter converter, 8.8 with 4:10 gears BFG drag radals 275 60son centerline autodrags. SSM suppers and lowers CE adj shocks in the rear and 90/10s up front, 2x2 subframes. He wants to race for money like 500$ best 2/3 I don't know much about srts in terms of mods.I can say that its modded I was told stage 4 whatever that means. Should i even get into this or should i just walk away? i have seen what EVOs can do [&o]
If you really have all those mods done to your car and its running good, I can see you beatinga Stage 4 SRT-4, just aslong as you can hook. Stage 3 SRT-4's are good for 11's easily, which I dont see your car with that setup having a hard time doing.
Here's a link to the AGP web sight. http://www.agpturbo.com/home.php?cat=275Check it out and see for your self if you think you'll be able to hang or not. Couple of comments. Most SRT-4 owners are full of sh*t about the amount of mods they have. Nuff said about that. Second While FWD isn't the perfect set-up for drag racing, dont think for a minute that a front driver wont hand you your *** at the track. It doesn't take much to turn them into 11 second cars! Third if you are actually bolting all that crap into your car it should be a running machine when it's done. Problem is, you don't have that stuff in the car now so if you race now, your doomed. I had a cleveland in a 71 mustang I used to own. It's a very strong motor. Good luck with the build.
I have never seen an SRT4 in any form run any faster than a mid 12 (it was a stage 3 i believe, didnt even know there was a stage 4) I think a lot of it comes down to driving... for every mid 13 second SRT4 i see, i see 5 running high 14's
