wow. That sucks. It still looks like crap compared to your vette man.
Come to find out, the GTP and the 87 vette share the same quarter mile time. Low 15's. lol

Reading through these stories reminded me of the time I was in Virginia to see an old friend. He has an '84 300ZX (which has a major identity crisis, as it is badged as a Nissan, a Datsun, and a 50th Anniversary Edition without a turbo...) and loves to race it. Even though his car isn't very powerful, he won't hesitate to race somebody; I guess he assumes that any V6 can beat rice. One night, I was riding with him as he explained how most everyone in Richmond will race you. I was dubious to that statement, but he pulled to a stoplight beside a Grand Prix GTP (many of you feel his pain, apparently), just revved the engine a couple times and indeed there was a race. Well, a race in the literal sense, not competition wise. After this loss, he was making excuses and stopped beside a Harley Davidson edition Super Duty. He was planning to race this guy too. I was right in the middle of warning him about the massive torque this thing probably produced when I was interrupted by an explosion of sound beside me and glanced up to see the truck way out in front.

Later, he saw a sport bike he wanted to race. That's when I just flat out said "no, let's go home".

First race at the track with the skittle, I got biotch clapped by a subi forester.[:@]Worst part was I bragged to my wife and kids about how blazing fast I was going to be.
Haha ouch dude!! Don't feel too bad though, the Forester XTs are boosted and have a very similar engine setup to the STi...which means they can be modded easily as well. I've seen some badass Foresters at the Subaru meets!!
It was probably stock. It ran a 14.5 to my 14.7! It looked like he beat me by half track from where I was sitting though. LOL

I got raped by an STI on the highway. I had my girlfriend in the car aswell and she was going to film it. Well I was in third when we gunned it and he started pulling away from me, went to shift into fourth, and went very smoothly into 2nd. Talk about ungodly noises! On top of that, I think I bent a valve in the head (not sure, used a different head and block on the engine build). Tried racing again after that (didn't hear the massive ticking noise over the music) and he just left me.The STI was cool though, but that **** was embarissing, especially after I told my girlfriend "watch me walk this STI". Anyhow,I don't know what it is, but unless I'm super careful, when I'm racing I have the hardest time going into fourth. I think they're may be something wrong with the synchros or something.

I was sitting at a light. A beat up early 90's civic hatch pulled up. He kept creeping at the light and was laughing with his buddy. I shouted over to them "Yeah your going to need that headstart!"

Light turned green....I pull one car on him, shift to second.......he pulls to the middle of my door, shift to third............he pulls three cars on me and kept going. I let off and put my tail between my legs and sat in the corner.

come to find out he was turbo's with nos. Still if it's not bad enough to be beat by a civic, it's worse that I was cocky and got beat! Damn ego!

I lost to a Silverado with a 6.0 once in my Z24. My friend knew the guy and he was saying, "You better be ready, he's going to race you." I laughed and said, "No he's not, he's in a truck. Why would he race me?" The guy nailed it when the light went green. So, I had to play catch up without launching it. I couldn't quite get passed him in the time that the road went to one lane. I know I would've beat him had I known he would race. My uncle has a GMC just like it with the 6.0 and I beat it pretty easilywhen my cousin tried racing me with it. If you don't launch a 4banger, it's worthless with acceleration.
Silverado's aren't as slow as you think. If it's a regular cab (NON Z71, because Z71's are dogs with all the extra weight the 4wd adds) with a 5.3 V8 or larger watch out! I used to run 15.4 @ 88.38 in the 1/4 with it. The same truck with a swapped 6.0 run mid 14's. I guy I know had the same truck as me and with just a tune removing most of the torque management he ran mid 14's!

I lost to another stang one day. I was gone one way him the other he revved. I turned around came up behind him seen he had one pipe and a big fuel pump. Not scared after all our car runs mid 11 in street trim. we looked at each other and mashed it at the same time I got out on him like 5 cars yell to the wife I got him no problem. just to look over in time to hear a blowoff valve venting by this time he was a car out on me and we were coming on to traffic fast. As the wife looks over and says look like you bit off more then you could chew. We stopped and talked to the guy 331 with a 76mm turbo and High port TFS heads the car looked all stock even the hood only give away was the pump and one exhaust. He said the car ran 9s with the Cobra -R wheels and all. Embarrassing wellNO I just got Hustled good.
