I was driving down one of the highways here in DFW with a few friends and one of my buddies wanted to race me.

So, we lined up at 40 mph and he honked it out..one, two....waiting for three. I went on what I thought would be three and then stopped cuz he didn't go. HAHA, he told me I timed it perfectly, his hand slipped off and he didn't honk three.

So we do it again...get to 40 and one...two...three, we're off. He instantly pulled a car on me, I started to catch up as I went to higher speeds and when I shifted I got about half a car back. By the time we were at 110 or so, he was about 1 1/2 cars to 2 cars ahead of me.

My friend has an almost stock neon with just an exahust I think...


Drumroll....I wasn't in my car, I was running around town in my mom's car. I had borrowed my old 2000 GT w/exhaust from her for a few hours. It was a good race, but the neon is just lighter. FUN little race though!

By almost stock neon do you mean srt-4 neon?? Cause a regular neon would have no chance inh*** agaisnt a 2000 GT. Or any GT for that matter

 

Is your old GT a 5spd or an Automatic? Those little bastards are quick.

Gotta be talking about that. Regular Neons only put about 125 to the wheels. No way in hell they're gonna outrun a GT!

And yes, my friend was driving an srt-4. Sorry, when I talk about them I just say neon...just habit I guess.
