the four door cobalt ss is rated at 177hp and has a 2.4L vvt ecotec engine. the two door ss is 205. My first car was a first gen 2.2L ecotec, and there are a number of things that you can do with these engines.. the new 2.0L in the solstice gxp will be direct injection, and about 275 crank hp... from what I recall, the crankshafts are interchangeable, too.

 

The SS coupe and sedan share the same 2.4 VVT engine which has around 170HP.

The SS/SC was dropped for 2008 to make way for a mid year Turbo model that will share the same LNF 260HP engine as the Solstice GXPand Sky Redline.

I had a 2005 SS/SC and 100% stock I went 14.34 @ 100mph. With the GM Stage 2 kit I pulled a 13.7 @ 104mph.

Like any other Wrong Wheel Drive car launching is a pain in theass to perfect.

Just don't go from a roll because thats where they shine.

 

You'll lose if it's superchargedunless the Cobalt driver sucks. They put more to the wheels than their rated at the crank.

 

i have seen cody dead even with a 99 cobra in his balt. Klugsrt-4 was driving the cobra.

 

what can i say, just save the gas and buy a t-lock, 4.10 gears, some suspension mods and throw some Drag Radials, and racing from a dig

look around ay dyno sheets STOCK s/c bolts put down typically 210-215hp with 190ish trq at the wheels

you will loose, the cobolt SS is a faster car than the 4.0.
