Hey how do you guys think i would do against a ss cobalt? That lightning i raced took the cobalt ime talking about, are all the ss sced? Thanks guys!

Well it says it has 205 hp, but thats prob at the crank not the wheels.

 

Aren't those cars lighter?

Torque;
Cobalt... 200 @ 4400 RPM
Mustang V6... 240 @ 3500 RPM

 

there are 2 ss's. One non supercharged one that you should beat (173hp i beleive and a mid 15 second car) and the supercharged model.

if it is the ss supercharged - if properly driven it will smoke you, BUT they are very hard to launch. they are rated at 205hp, but in reality most of them put that down at the wheels or more. Severely under-rated. 205whp in a ~3k lb car > 185whp in a 3300 lb car, despite the torque advantage. If you go from any roll he will SMOKE you. They trap around 100 (right on par with a new edge gt). Like i said though, many launching issues and alot of em will run high 14's despite the fact they are capable of low 14's. Go from a dig, and don't race to over 100 and you might be alright...otherwise you are screwed.

 

the ss's are Not supercharger. the ss supercharged ones are lol hence the name. we are faster than the ss's i know this because i raced one when i was stock. i dont know about an ss s/c ive never raced one

ha i raced my buddies ss and it was just from a dig to about 50, we were just messing around, and he pulled

 

not all are supercharged, there are regular SS's without superchargers, if thats the case you should def. get him from a dig maybe a little closer from a roll but you should still pull on him

 

if im not mistaken there are two.
there is a cobalt ss that has a 2.2l ecotech engine. and you will take that car.
then there is the 2.0 supercharged cobalt ss/sc. like 8cd03 said from a dig its a drivers race. i raced one a few months back and i got him by a fender. he works, well used to work right next to me and one day we decided to race. from a roll he got me pretty bad, from a dig i had him at about a fender. really close race. all about the driver.
