I don't believe a stock SRT8 Cherokee has ever been measured at 4.6 0-60, but they are about 5.0, or about the same as a stock Mustang GT. They do have 425 hp, but are a much heavier vehicle.
Road & Track, SRT forums etc. 4.6 seconds is a very real number.

well.. just remember.. the way i look at any vehicle... price: msrp baseline gt, 25k, grand cherokee srt 41k, and mpg is about 5-10 difference.. saving yourself an extra 1.50-2.00 per gallon.. great! and sounds like they aren't too much if any faster stock form... but cool vehicles anyway for speed +functionality with the extra cargo/seating/comfort.

they are considerably faster than an s197 from a dig. One of my buddies has one and that thing could hit 12's the way it sits i assure you. they launch HARD. You have to realize these cars are running low 13's and sure as hell don't have great top end. They just have massive torque and awd. his ****'s broken all the time tho.

They are pretty quick and they sound awesome. There was one at a stop light the other nite revving at me. I don't know why since he saw that I have a 6. He took off and was gone.
