First time at track
I went to the track last night for the first time in my 07' V6 automatic. It's bone stock. I ran a 15.509 @ 89.97 mph with a .458 r/t which sucks but it was my first time. I made three passes. The first pass I raced an old BMW M3 and beat him by .246 seconds. The next two passes I raced my friend in his 07 Mitsubishi Lancer (not an Evo) and beat him by a little over 2 seconds each time. Besides the reaction time I thought I did pretty good for my first time. Can someone tell me how the reaction time factors in? I know that it doesn't really matter unless you're bracket racing but I just don't understand exactly how it factors in. Thanks for any feedback.
Reaction time doesnt mean anything at all to the race unless you are doing bracket.. The time doesnt start untill you break the plane.
Your 60' makes or breaks the race.
The things we need to know to tell you how you did are
60' time
speed at 1/8 mile
et and trap speed

if it was a Test and tune night the reaction time doens really matter from what i told.the timer startswhen u pass over the line.the thing you gotta narrow down is the 60ft time. what was you 60ft? when i took my car to the track i had a flowmaster axle back, and an MRT intake, no tune. i could only hit a 15.3 and thats with a 2.2 60ft. Now since the tune im at a 14.8 with a 2.1 60ft. GET YOUR AUTO TUNED. seriously one of the best things if not the best things you can do for it. it will help alot. Also the more u go the better you will get.

Thanks for the feedback. My 60 ft.was 2.401, 1/8 mile 10.067 @ 71.43 mph, 1/4 mile 15.509 @ 89.97 mph. What type of tune did you get Dwis?

Explanation:
Did you stage and then hold down the brake pedal with your left foot an bring the rpm up as high as you could without the overcoming the brakes and either pushing the front tires or spinning the rears?
If you know you willovercome the brakes at say 2400 rpm you often get the best 60' by torque braking it to say 2000-2200 rpm and then releasing the brake and rolling into the throttle as quickly as possible without excessive wheelspin.
