yeah i've raced against my friend in his SS and beat him from a dig and from a roll every time. he would fall under the "idiot" category though, he doesn't know how to drive that car yet. in fact, i think my grandma can shift quicker than he can. he's absolutely baffled that my bolt-on-equipped 4.6 can beat his LS1, i told him he needs to upgrade his driver mod. i guess he'll get better over time... even more reason for me to get that supercharger on my car asap

 

The 6 speed cars are slower than the stalled autos, in a 1/4. A 6 speed will not launch as well as a stalled auto.

yea they are double OD geared trannies, I want the T56 viper spec, a 6th gear with a purpose.

I have had my car for about a year and half, dont go to the track, never race on the street, cuz no one ever does round here anymore. So I cannot fully say that I can beat ALL stock LS1s, but I beat 2-3 idiots, lol

I am one of these "light bolton LS1 guys." How many 2V Mustangs run 12.7 with just boltons and gears? No engine work or power adders? I know of only one, we are about neck and neck (his best ET in cool air is also 12.7). He also has a stall.

My car hit 12.7 as it sits, stock 2.73 gears and converter. Not even tuned at all. If I were to give back the lid (1 tenth) and exhaust (probably 2 tenths without having been tuned for it, 3 tenths is kinda optimistic) and take a 3000 stall in their place, I probably wouldn't drop back from where I am now.

wonder where our 3v / 4v friends are... the majority in here seem to be the 2v's (few exceptions)

 

I am going to guess that's because this was started in the 2v 4.6 section and Mitch moved it here. Yea thanks for that man, like I did not have enough LS1 crap to deal with here.

BTW Mitch what does this car of yours run? It better be pretty damn fast with those big 'ol steam rollers under there.
