Huh,, I didn't know that.
I know the 5.0 was a LX body option till '89? when they made the LX Sport an option.
But I was unaware they put 5.0's in the '85 '86 LX body style.
That said though, I'd take a well taken care of carb'd '85/'86 over a 05+ v6.
My parents had a '85 and something about them is just neat.

^ Yeah, 85 is when they started breathing life back into the 5.0 HO. I looked at a 85 GT, 5spd, T-Top awhile ago. Wanted to buy, cruise w/o the Tops, clean it up, and sell for a smallprofit, but I decided thats probably not the best car to flip like that. Cool cars none-the-less. The 4bbl.5.0 would be great for modding. The only carb'd car I have driven was the 85 I test drove. Didn't get on it, so I didn't get to hear/feel the secondaries open up.
Wish they came with the 8.8 rearend, though.
Sidenote: The 5.0 automatics around 85 came with some sort of TBI, they didn't make as much power as the HO motors.
