4.0vs5.0
OK so i walk out of work today and i hear my buddie arguing with some kid. they call me over there. the argument was over what year the terminators were last made....04. so i tell the kid this and he says im bull****ting. he says he is a mustang enthusiast, i say so am i. he asks what i drive and i point to my car. he laughs and says ohhh the v6? i say yup. just a sixxer. he starts getting in my face about it, btw this kid is drunk, i could smell it on him like crazy, and i ask what he drives. he says an 89 fox body that will put at least two lengths on your car. he says what do u run, probably only a 15.5. i say yeah thats it. thats all my little sixxer has. last time i ran at the track i hit a 14.8. that was before the duals. i walk away. an hour later this punk is back and has taken a couple more shots. then gets in my face more about how glorius his 89 fox is. my question is what do they normally run. i assume he has a gt, and he said it was bone stock.
how would i hold up. he is a stick im an auto

I own both..or at least used to have the 4.0 before the current swap.
Also own a low mileage '87 GT, but haven't had it at the track yet.
To my knowledge stock they are low 15 sec cars, so with your mods you should clean up.
That being said it is silly easy to mod a Fox and make them sickly fast, but that is a conversation for another thread!

I ran a 14.5 with cold air intake and h pipe with stock 3.08 gear. I ran a 13.9 with gears and full exaust.. This is on an 88 gt with 160 k on original engine.. plus there's not to many stock fox's running around. But if it truely is stock with an average driver I'd say he'd just take you or it would be close..
this is a post from the 4.6 vs 5.0 thread
I can speak directly to this having owned several 5.0's and a few 4.6's including a 1997 GT, let me break it down like this.
My BONE STOCK '85 LX 5.0 was good for 14.5@93
My BONE STOCK '85 GT 5.0 was good for 14.7@93
My'87 LX 5.0 was good for 14.1@96 with the silencer removed and timing bumped
