Top end....where to do it?
When I was younger I met a cop at an unmentionable speed. He didnt even brake.
I had this very discussion with a Superbike owner and he said they almost never do.
Lets say it takes a cop 30 seconds to stop get turned around during which he covers 1/8 mi in the wrong direction.
He then takes 90 seconds to accelerate to 120 mph covering 1 5/8 mi.
He has covered a net of 1.5 miles over 2.0 minutes.
Meanwhile at 180 mph you have covered 6.0 miles and are 4.5 mi ahead and and pulling away at 1.0 miles a minute.
Its not a question of attempting to allude, its a question of even knowing he exist.

A trooper near here told me that people pass by him while he is sitting in the median all the time late at night doing +130mph. He said anything traveling over 120-130mphisn't worth going after. He said by the time he cranks his vehicle, puts it in drive, and gets on the Hwy, they are long gone. Their Crown Vics won't go over 138 anyway. I asked him if it was governed at 138 and he said, "No, it just won't go over 138!"

Here's my spot. Still not safe, but at least nobody else is in danger.

id like to point out that in NO WAY does MustangForums.com encourage, promote, or condone street racing, or any law breaking activities on public roads. all racing should be done on a closed circuit with emergency medical technicians present.

Alabama's State Troopers are switching from Ford (Crown Vic and Expedition) to the Dodge Charger 5.7L and Chevrolet Tahoe (K9 and DOT). The sad truth is the Tahoe is quicker than the Crown Vic much less the Expedition. 0-60 in 7.3and 15.6 @ 88.5 in the 1/4. They have a 320 bhp 5.3L.

They must have3.27 geared cars. Theoptional 3.55'scome with a 130 mph speedlimiter due to critical driveshaft speed.
