Ya if the guy just threw in a stock 351 out of an old f150 or something, he would be making about what 220 hp instead of 225 out of the 302[8D]

But a nice HCI 351 or a stroker puts out some serious power
Definately agree..but i've seen cheap heads and big cams in them that went no where fast. Not everyone knows what they are doing... which makes it even better for me around here. LOL

Ya well people find ways to screw up every type of engine

You don't see it as much here but if you go over to the correl message boards, there are some crazy 351's that are putting down 600-800 rwhp (tt's, big blowers etc)[8D]

my vote is on a rebadged 5.0. there are some pretty ridiculous aftermarket badges that people slap on their stangs

Like this. It'll take year for mustang owners to live this one down.

Probably just a truck motor swapped 351. Low compression, restrictive heads, crappy intake manifold, same size cam as a 302, cast iron exhaust manifolds, all add up to not much of a runner. They have a slightly more aggressive growl than a 302, so if you're going for sound you won't notice any major difference on the street. 351W's really don't see much potential until you up the compression and get some flow going. Stroking is another good way to get power, but even a simple H/C/I compressor motor will net you some very nice power numbers.

Yep, all depends on what kind of set up the guy had. My 408W makes 679rwhp N/A.
