Yes,*sigh* Your 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix GT is not fast, even with that "custom race exhaust". Mustang guys are dicks to you because you talk so much **** about your car and try and provoke them on the street. Also, driving around with one headlight assy out does little to intimidate.

Your 1999 gutted civic hatch with the JDM whatever swap is not fast, even though it makes more hp per liter than most american muscle, it does notmake ENOUGH! And no amount of CAIs, plug wires, enginegrounding kits, carbon fiber hoods orpainted valve covers will everchange that.

Guys just come on already, this has gone far enough.

There's good news and bad news here.

Bad news-in a yr the 3000gt kid is going for a drag car and getting an S2000 and saving for a turbo. IMO that's not the smartest hp/et making car per dollar move.

More bad news-one of my good friends is saving up for an RSX type-s and getting it pre/about summer time.
Future plans are just that...speculation. Especially for college age kids.

Here is what you do. Go out, get ET's and let the slip do the talking.

Not really ha... none of the guys I hang around with are douchebags. If they have a fast car, they know it and don't talk about it and if they have a slow one (like me now ) they admit and dont call it a world beater. I always hung around a lot of high dollar imports and domestics though, none of that steelie-wheeled, AutoZone winged garbage or mom & dad hand-me-down grocery getter wannabe thugs that you see out there.

That's what I want to do, but I don't know what we'll come first. A challenge from either one of them or a trip to the strip myself. I will be aiming to go to the nearest strip (island dragway), but that most likely won't be till lateJuly or August b/c I want to have my supercharged car ready for the strip (Drag Radials, 8.8 takeoff, etc). Hopefully if I do get a challenge I can convince one of them to make a trip to the strip with me.Thanks for the idea! I would definitly like a slip to do the talking for me like you already have.

Do yourself a favor and start hitting the track before you boost it. The strip is a much, much better gauge of two carsthan any street scene. To run the track effectively you have to have all aspects of the car dialed in...traction, power, driver. Just look at Bluebeasts sig to know what most track guys think of roll racers on the street.
By making some NA runs before boost you will get a great feel of the car, launching, staging, the tree and most importantly yourself.
Driver mod is the most overlooked part of racing, learn by experience and you can start taking out equal cars.

Thanks for the tip! So when do most tracks open up that are in the NJ, PA, Connecticut area? I'll hit em up then as soon as I get/take a day off and they're open.

Most generally start opening by mid April or so. Just hop on the website of your local track and they should have a full schedule.
