had my first race today
It was a cocky LT1 owner, probably my age (17-20). He asked what I had done to the motor & I said just RAI & exhaust, other than that it was stock(keep this in mind he never asked what kinda motor I had in the 1st place). After I told him that he laughed and said how that must suck because it's slow as ***** then. He said he had full exhaust, headers back, intake, and gears(didn't say how steep) didn't say if anything else was done with the car. I asked him if he wanted to race and he just smiled thinking he was gonna kill me or something. I take it his car was auto cause he didn't rev it n dump the clutch when the light turned green, but probably around 70-80 I left off and he was about 1-2 cars behind me. We get to the next red light and he's bitching because I lied to him, I just said, well you asked me what I had done to the motor, never asked me what kind it was in the first place, and told him what I had. He was still pissy about it so I just put my window back up and drove away. It was a pretty fun rush though to have experienced my first race with something actually to compete with other having one with a fartcan ricer.

 

If he's going to race then he should understand that there IS the possibility of loosing! Dumbass Maro driver!

 

Well, if I pulled up on an NPI-GT that just had exhaust and intake, and I had my mods and gears, I think I'd feel like I had it in the bag too. lol

 

yeah, that's what kinda ticked me off, I was gonna tell him what motor & other mods I had in the car before we even ran, but after he acted like a dick to me I was thinking why even bother. and that was the other problem, right away he assumed I was NPI from the start, I could tell with the smartass why he was talking to me

 

Yeah, I still wouldn't act like an *** in that case. Because, I'd think there's got to be something else, if you're wanting to race. Plus, I try not to be an *** to people.

 

That might be true but don't be a buthead about it. You can't win them all and don't give ALL Camaro drivers a bad name. We are not like that. Good race Silverstang1996.

 

hah, yeah deff. doesn't give 'maro drivers a bad name, i got a couple friends w/ 'maros, heck i was gonna get a LT1 before I found this stang anyways. i know tspence has corrected me a few times when i had wrong info and it's always nice to know when i'm wrong so i don't make myself a fool twice hah

 

Oh, I wouldn't be a buthead about it at all. From the sounds of it, the LT1 driver is just an idiot and has issues with cockiness. Also, it sounds like he was the one that came up wanting to race. Which is another reason he sounds like an idiot. I'd never pick a fight with a npi 2v. If the guy came up to me and wanted to race, then I would. But I wouldn't pull up acting all cocky and try and race. I never feel like I have any race in the bag, unless I know who the person is and exactly what they're running. I've seen enough sleepers out there to scare me when pulling up next to any vehicle. Examples are the big 1/2, 3/4, or full ton diesels that could put buslenghts on my car. lol. There's actually a kid, in my town, that I'm related to somehow, with a Banks 5 stage setup (or so I've heard) on his '01 Silverado that is outrageously fast. Hisparents owns the shop in town that I'll probably get most of the work done, that I can't get done myself, on my car, when it's time.
