Default 1/8 track...

Well...went out to the track last night. 95% humidity, mid 70's = great weather for drag racing.....plus a broken bottle heater = 750psi which = a ****ty 70'ish shot of nitrous. Well, enough excuses. Made 5 passes:

Motor run:

1.74
5.263
8.191 @ 83.903 mph

Nitrous 75hp run:

1.771
5.095
7.835 @ 90.333 mph

Finally ran into a fast 99+ GT. It was trailored to the track with slicks/skinnies. Got the guys car on tape, it's badass. He had full bolt ons, comp cams, a Vortech on 14psi, and a 35 shot of nitrous. He didn't use the nitrous last night though. I ran him on one pass, he ran a 7.9 to my 8.0. I trapped slightly higher, but he got me outta the hole. Best he ran all night was a 7.70 on a 1.6x 60'. He usually goes faster, but the weather sucked.....which is good news for me.

I got tape of several runs of the night. Got a Mach I on tape, although he never got into the 8's. The stage II SRT-4 couldn't get 8's either. The EVO stayed around 8.0. That fugger moves out. Anyway, it was a fun night. Can't wait to get out there in some decent weather and run some 7.50's.

Good runs, that 7.8 is good for a high 11, if you get down to the 7.5's/7.6's that will be enough for a 11.50 pass. Are you running a dry or wet kit? if it is wet your bottle pressure was hurting you more than you think.

98, what's up with your trap speed?
I just pulled out one of my old slips from when I was lid, catback on ET streets. Granted I ran a 8.6 but my top end was 85.7mph. What's the str on your t/c? Sounds like you need a tune to lock up your t/c earlier.
And ditto on the shot. wet or dry?

My converter is killing me. I have way too much stall for a nitrous car. Although, I have trapped over 86mph on motor, with a 1.8 60'. All the guys that were there were running .2+ worse times than normal, and more than 2mph worse than normal, the weather killed us. Car will go 7.50's on a 100 shot and some 8.0's or better on motor, and it should do it in a couple weeks when we go back.

Silver, we went to Mooresville to run. So you know how much more the car has in it. I also left the bottle, spare, and jack in during the motor runs. Too much trouble to jerk them out.

It's a dry shot. I have a digital gauge, it stayed between 750-800psi on each run.

To put it into perspective on how bad the weather was, the GT that was running 7's with me dyno'd 435rwhp off the nitrous. He was pulling 1.6x 60's and running almost identical times as me. It was nasty.

Apearently they are under construction on that 1/4 mile track north of statesville that I was telling you about. Maybe soon you can get some better runs in if they do a better job then Mville with prep... which really isn't hard to do. I'm looking to run a 8.5 1/8 when I hit the track on wednesday... I'm getting there.. I have far too many mods that are slowing me down

It'd be great if they built a 1/4 here. I've not heard anything about it though, other than from you.

Wow, you need to tell the GT guy that for 14 PSI his car is dynoing like ****. A full boltons /cammed GT at 14 psi should be making well in excess of 500 RWHP. Hell, MD put down 42x on a pretty conservative tune, with no intercooler, and no forged internals (which means not spinning past about 6000 RPM.) That guy has to have an all forged setup with 14 PSI (espcially with nitrous).

I think if you are expecting a 14 psi GT to run a high 11 with slicks on your gonna get a suprise. Something isnt right there.

I posted a vid of his car....like I said, it was horrible weather. He was still trapping around what MD trapped and this guy was only cutting 1.6x 60's. He's went 7.4 before. I'm pretty sure he said 14psi though. Not everyone cuts 1.5 60's. Plus MD ran that when it was cool out.

EDIT: I think MD put down 408 or 411 or something...I forget. This guy also hasn't sprayed the car yet. He said he'll be making over 500rwhp on a 35 shot of gas and expects the motor to go bye bye very soon. The tranny has already taken a crap on him once.
