2005 GT vs. Infinity G35

Just don't be afraid to let that engine spin....the 4.6L will handle spinning to 6000-6500 pretty well, as long as you are tuned (and you are), and you don't hit that rev limiter.
Just practice once in awhile....after a while you won't need a shift light, they definitely help though.

I've seen the car around a few times and it is a G35, unless the guy switched his emblem.
It was probably just my technique. I wasn't even riding the clutch at takeoff.

Too bad my Subaru is an automatic cause I could practice on that. Is it better to set my rev limit lower than 6500? I had a shift light in a Dodge Colt and I considered it a dummy light, cause the thing was always telling me to shift. [&:] I assume that this Raptor light is set to whatever RPM's you tell it? Is there a button to shut the light off at night?

Mine was not able to be shut off at night, but I am sure there is someting you could rig to disable it. But it you set it right near redline, I doubt you will be seeing it much unless you are really pushing the car.

Really doesn't matter the year cause an s197 should handle any G35. I'd even put money on an s197 against a G37.[8D]

The '08 Bullitts have them covered.
Well, I saw the red car again today with a good look at the front andit is not an Infinity after all. [8D] It is an Audi. Could have sworn it said 35 on the back left.

Don't know if this improves my cause or makes it worse.

That looks like the new s5, still shouldn't be too much of a problem for an s197 especially with a tune and a CAI. A stock s197 is more than a match for the s4 and the s5s share the same performance. Correction, apparently the s5s are good for mid to low 13s which is right at s197 levels if you are a good driver, so practice up and show him what american muscle and half the price can do.

Step One.......turn off your Jimmy Buffett and get your mind off of Carribean time
Step two.......more agression in your driving
Step three.......win
Step four.......turn Jimmy back up, smile in satisfaction, and wave to the guy in your rear view mirror, and say these words "The weather is here, I wish you were beautiful" [8D]

If it was an A5, you should've taken it relatively easy, however, if it was an S5, the results aren't entirely surprising. They're basement 13's at 105+ from the factory, and can launch hard w/ their awd. It'd take all out driving w/ a good launch to beat one. Don't feel bad, work on your driving technique, and maybe you'll get him next time....
