I hate that thing w/ a passion, but it's cool you actually got to see one person. Your mom's coworker must be loaded....
Why do you hate this car sooo much? I think its Great that an american car can finally compete with the supercars of the world. I mean its a V8 TT with ~1200 HP.... It takes the Veyron a W16 and 4 turbos 1001 with 4 radiators and 4 intercoolers..( yes im sure more time went into the veyron ) I agree the Veyron is probably more hightech/BETTER MADE BUT no reason to hate a car that deserves credit(The fastest car in the world). and yeah i was pretty excited to see it...

Wikopedia " The Aero and the Shelby Super Cars company are the brainchildren of Jerod Shelby, who spent over seven years designing the car. Only twenty-five Aeros are to be produced"

Honestly because it's just a hodge-podged attempt at makingsupercar. It's a poorly refined, cheaply built car w/ a retardedly powerful engine. That's it. It just fails to even remotely impress me. And you've got to be kidding if you think this thing compares to world-class supercars. This car is an epic failure compared to a Carrera GT, Enzo, or McLaren F1.

The Saleen S7 is a true American world-class supercar. And it is bad-f#cking-***. The Ford GT is really close, too. And SAleen built it. Moral of the story- American supercars should be left to Saleen.....

Lest we forget the epic failure GM made with the Sledgehammer 'Vette.. prehaps a Z06 buff like Bickety will know what year it was actually produced, but Chevy if I remember correctly, made that in an attempt to compete with the F1.. We all know how that turned out.. lol

This does make me wonder with GM now saying they'll take on any supercar in the world with the ZR1. I guess being a supercar is more then straight line speed. It's a well rouned approach to top speed.

I would say that producing a supercar isn't just about 1/4 mile or road course speed, something chevy hasn't figured out yet I dont think. I'm HOPING the ZR1 is everything chevy says it's going to be, because it will definitely be bada** if it is.. Either way it'll still be an awesome car methinks.. Unlike the massively a**bagish, retarded blunder they made in ruining the Chevy Malibu's good name.. LOL

Veyron has 10 radiators not 4.

And no power steering is not a bad thing. It is infact a good thing. Allows you to get a feel for what the car is doing can feel so much more and get so much more information from what the wheels are actually doing. Better sense of feeling for the car.

And most people know the British had a large part to do with the FordGT. But how many of you know a British company worked on the S7 as well. The Same company that helps out Aston Martin with designing their cars.

1) The Callaway Sledgehammer was a one-off made in 1988. It was in no way, shape, or form a competitor to the McLaren F1, which didn't come out until 1995.

2) Of course there is more to a true supercar than speed. It is also about passion, looks, mystique, and driving character as well.

3) The British has very little to do w/ the Ford GT. It is true, however, that the originalGT40 was based heavily on the Lola Mk6. But besides that, other companies often play a role in developing a maunfacturer's car. It's nothing new. It doesn't change a car's country of origin. The Corvette ZR-1's engine was designed by Lotus and made by Mercury Marine. The Viper engine was first produced by Lamborghini. The Ford Taurus SHO's 3.0 V6 was designed, developed, and built by Yamaha.
