Stock for stock, equal driver's, the GT will win from a dig. From a roll, it's gonna be real close, w/ perhaps the edge to the G.

On a side note, it's been said several times before, but you just CAN'T compare torque figures and decide what the outcome of a race will be. That's called bench racing, and it doesn't work out so well.....

I dont think he knows the horse a G37 puts out. Like others stated 330 flywheel. I doubt exhaust tune and pulleys give u that much. Even 350 flywheel seems like a stretch?. Regardless with ur settup i still think ud win without to much trouble.

the car really was no slouch and they look awesome...i just dont think he realized that i had almost 100HP more than he did. the only exterior mod i have is my tires/rims, eibach pro kit, exhaust, and a shorter antenna..other than that, the car looks stock

i'm sure stock for stock, it would be pretty close...closer than any GT owner would want to be against a v6
ehhhhh so let see a regular stang puts down usually about 260-270 rwhp and u have pulley, sct2 dyno tune, headers, exhaust and somehow you got 100hp more than him. [&:] The new g37s are rated at 330hp at the wheels so they have 30ph more than you to start with. I do believe you will be faster than him but in no way, matter or form u have 100 hp on him.

thank you cacimar, that's the point I was trying to make earlier. There's just toooo much BS floating around the S/S section.

This is ridiculous. There is a major lack of info concerning the G37. All we know is that it has 330hp and 270tq at the crank. My guess would be that it's a toss up with a stock S197, but that would be an uneducated ASSumption. What does the powerband and gearing look like on the new G37? What about track times? Anyone witnessed apass yet?

^ Some guys at my350z have gotten 13.70's out of them. And someone ran a 13.6X at I wanna say 108mph. Don't hold me to that, but I'm almost positive that was the time. I'd have to try to find it again to be for sure, though...

That's a hell of a trap speed if you remember correctly. Hell, I only hit just over 102 when I went 13.37. I'd say they are slower off the line, but shine in the upper RPM. Those cars must be mean from a roll.

That's some pretty sick top end. Makes sense though, reason being, didn't USMC run one on the street and say it slowly crept up on him the longer the race continued.? I was surprised cause 4Vs are known for pulling better up top.

Okay, I did some searching, and found a 13.75 @ 106.2 for a stock 6-sp car. And an auto w/ intakeand exhaust went 13.57 at 103.51. Didn't come up w/ the 13.6x time. At any rate, I'm a bit surprised by the fairly low trap of the intake/exhaust car, but seeing how it's an auto, and judging by his ET, I think a bit better could be done. I firmly believe that once more owners get their hands on them, and become familar w/ them, someone will put one in the 13.50's 100% stock. Sorry I couldn't find that one time, but hopefully that info helps a little. And I'd say it shows that it's def a close race w/ the S197 GT.

Also, I just found out that GT Motorsports is almost done w/ their twin-turbo kit for them, and it's supposed to be good for 400+ whp at 8 psi. They've already dynoed a test mule at 586whp, and it held up well. They're saying the stock block and internals should be capable of 600~whp w/ a good tune....

I did mention earlier that i read that a tested G37S put down 5 seconds flat in a 0-60 sprint, but I guess I was talking to myself. lol

In other words, just in a 0-60 sprint, it looks like a drivers race. (stock vs stock)
