Don't read the "F-Body Owners Hate Mustangs" thread. You'll find out that stock LT1's dyno within 15 hp of LS1's, they go mid 13's stock on a common basis, and smoke any non-terminator Mustang ever.

With an average launch, you're good for 14 flat with your mods. Obviously, if you hook a bit better, you could easily touch mid 13's

He wants to race for a full tank of gas, so hopefully I'll be smiling at the gas tank this weekend! With my mods and cosidering me a good driver, what do you guys think my 1/4 mile time would be?
Full tank of gas -- lol. Tell him you want to make it best 2 of 3 -- maybe he will miss 3rd gear in one of the races and you will win.

I think you will win regardless.

If the Z28 is stock then I would bet on you to win this. If he does any decent amount of modifying, however, watch out; pushrod 5.7s have alot of easily realized potential.

You SHOULD beat that Camaro.
If you have to ask what you'll run it means you've never been to the track. And almost every first timer falls on their face. So I'll say you'll run a mid 14 on the first pass and high 13's by the end of the night. With practice mid 13's is a safe bet.

Well if he just got the car, I wouldnt expect him to have the shifts down packed, and regardless if he does, if you can drive your mods are way more than enough to beat him. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

If you lose I will become a Chevy man. My cousin's LT1 isn't that fast (Dad's 91 Vert auto 3.73 gears keeps up somewhat). And I don't think theres any way in HELL an LS1 only dynos 15 more horses than an LT1. It's absolutely no comparison. You got this one. Launch softly cuz he'll go up in smoke, then shift like you're trying tobreak that damn shifter through the floor.
