ORIGINAL: tspence45
3.23's are still an option in any 4th gen V8 fbody. 3.23's are possible to get in any of them, I believe. Somone correct me if I'm wrong again. lol. But, I know I've atleastseen Z28 autos with 3.23's stock.

Off Topic:
All auto Z28 and Formulas/Base Trans Ams have 2.73's, no possible 3.23's, right?
All auto SS/WS6's have 3.23's
Every 6spdhas 3.42's, no possibilty of 3.23's, correct?
All LS1's are created equal, but their drivetrains are not.

Auto SS's had 3.23 gears, ALL 6 speed LS1 F-bodies had 3.42's. I also do think it take 40 hp or so for a Termi to pull a LS1. They are a couple hundred pounds heavier and have an IRS that eats a lttle hp. OP, sounds like you had a good race, let us know what happens when he sprays. I do thing the guy in the fbody is kind of a tool for claiming his car is set up for "track' racing
he sounds like a ricer, plus who puts spray on a road racer.

98-02 V8F-body gear ratios:
All 6-speeds had 3.42 gears.
auto Z28, Formula, base Trans Am = 2.73s standard, 3.23s optional
auto Camaro SS and WS6 = 3.23s standard
My girlfriend has had two 2001 Z28s, the first had 2.73s and the second had 3.23s.

Stock for stock with equal drivers, a Termie would beat an LS1 F-body pretty easily. Stock for stock a Termie has about what, 40-50rwhp over an LS1 F-body.

if you believe the stock SS numbers(which most people don't) would closer to 65 but I always use about 390 crank hp for termie and 340 crank hp for ls1 ss
