launching
ok.....on the street or on street tires at the track......where do you 4/5/6-spd drivers launch ?? is it just me, or does it seem like the car actually accelerates faster when youre spinning, then, you hook and youre off like a rocket. cuz, when i launch at idle, it bogs down, then, gets back up and goes. so, where do you all launch at ?
Well, back on street tires. I just went off idle.
I have 4.10's tho and that helped bigtime, but from what I understand, most people just launch around 2000-2500and feather the clutch so you're on the edge of spinning/sticking.
But I have cut 2.0 60's from idle.
Edit: Also When you spin your tires your MPH will be higher as well.

I have had on Kumho ecsta supra 712 and a goodyear tire not sure which ones though. They are not going to be on much longer putting potenzas back on. My car is not broke i asure you. We have a really good track at the Gainesville raceway. nice and sticky.
I am different. I don't launch at a set speed. I launch as I build RPM. I have no idea if it holds true or not but my logic tels me that if I am raising RPM as I launch it will not eat RPM like it would if you drop the clutch while your holding a static 2000 RPM. But hey, it works for me. I'm pulling 1.9 60 foots on street tires doing that. It takes practice..
