You are darn lucky he didn't have the tuner mods you did, or kept his foot on it, cause he'd have passed you again. Did you know those 06 and 07 SS Impalas can do 165 with no mods?

Old ones are, but in 06 they threw in the LS4 and hp is over 300. It's still prettyheavy and hurt by the auto trans though. New 300hp+ engine=low 14 sec monte carlo.

. 165mph in an impala SS? I don't think that's possible. Just doesn't sound right,definitlynot stock(they're tires probably aren't even rated for that mph, let alone they aren't putting out abig hp number).Someone 2nd that they can or can't do this?

Claims the only Mustang that's beaten him was a pullied/exhausted Terminator. I was astonished. I'm glad Ford built those 03/04 Cobras....otherwise all Mustangs would be disgraced by these 4 door sedans.I've only had one run in with an LS4......a Grand Prix GXP. Guy tried to deny me when I tried to overtake him on LA 1. I was doing 45......didn't even drop it into 3rd, and waved goodbye.

You should check out some of the LS4 FWD forums. Those guys are apparently murdering everything in their near-stock LS4's. One guy said he's beaten 6 modded new GT's (and definitively at that) with his tune only SS. Claims the only Mustang that's beaten him was a pullied/exhausted Terminator. I was astonished.
