At first I was like whats this family car riding my *** when i'm already doing 80mph. So I'm not going to waste my gas on a family car, so i move over to let him pass. I then notice its a impala SS which I later found out was a 5.3-liter V8 with 303 horsepower and does 0-60 mph in 6.4 and the 1/4 in 14.4

That said at the time I thought it was a v6. So I said let me show this guy that he spent way to much money for a slow SS.

I pull up next to him doing 80+ and i motion him to go. And boy did he, that car took off and I then punched it and played catch up for awhile but realed him in and passed him. I was WTF I almost lost to a V6, so i went home and did some research on the car and found out that the car had a V8 with numbers very similar to a stock foxbody. I really feel the top end torque since the o/r h-pipe went on, and I think thats what help me real him in.

Any way I was very proud of my 20 year old girl, she did me proud.

Very nice with your mods. If you think about it, you guys are about even in stock form, so your mods must have paid off enough to give you a you decent edge. If his car is a 14.4 car, you should be good for a 14 flat the way you reeled him in.

 

Well, the 5.3 cars (Monte, Grand Prix, Impala) are all low 14 sec cars, so I'd say you did a nice job repping the Fox.....

 

Well done...as said they move out pretty well.... traps are a bit higher than a stock 5.0 can do so you mods definately panned out well.

 

The Monte is a high 14 second car I thought?

Old ones are, but in 06 they threw in the LS4 and hp is over 300. It's still prettyheavy and hurt by the auto trans though. New 300hp+ engine=low 14 sec monte carlo.

 

His licence plate had LS4 on it, I didn't know what it meant. But now i do, but he also got to read mine. LOL
