skill with automatic??
ok so on the expressway at about 1:30 AM the expressway is empty... so im driving home and some p*$$y altima (looked like an 08) pulls up to me andstarts teasing me and flashing his high beam, my friend and i look up ahead and see its dead empty so i just sayh what the hell... we start goin at it and for some reason that Altima blew me... my friend said "if you knew how to drive better you would've won" but what exactly does he mean? i thought with an automatic transmission you just step on the gas and go? how do i "drive better" to make the car go faster?
P.S. i drive a 2004 V6 mustang....

Maybe if you had a faster car you would have won, but your v6 Mustang with an auto is almost a 16 second car in the 1/4 mile. The v6 Altimas from 02 up I believe are mid to high 14 second cars and the newer ones are even faster. Start modding man.
First off, tell you're friend that he's an idiot. It takes no skill to drive a V6 auto Mustang. Even in the GT's, you can hammer the gas from a dead stop and not have to worry too much about traction. The only skill you need for an auto, is launching. And like I said, you don't have to worry about launching skill in a sixxer. Just hammer it and go.

You could have helped the Noob out alittle better than that, LOL. Launching is when your at a deadstop someone, at the track or on the street, and you hold the brake down and kinda press the gas at the same time so you have the rpms up alittle bit and when the light turns green or you take off, just let off the brake and hammer the gas.
