i got to test drive a 2003 Mustang GT vert today. i just wanted to see what they felt like. i ended up finding one scary little f*cker though. it was silver and looked pretty much stock (except for Cobra rims). when i first started her up, i thought i heard a supercharger (couldn't really hear anything, the stereo was turned up a little), bu i figured "nah, probably just a pulley or something". well, pulling out of the lot, i turned down the stereo and started to get on the gas a little, that's when i noticed there really was a whining sound coming from the engine bay. i was thinking "ok, so someone supercharged the 4.6, lets see what she'll do". i romped on it in 2nd from 31mph and broke em loose instantly, both rear tires up in smoke. i shifted to third and the tires finally got traction, and the speedo was reading 68mph. i didn't get out of the throttle though, i didn't let off until i was cruising at 140mph. that little Stang really took off!! when i got back to the dealership, i popped the hood to find not a 4.6 with a SC, but a 5.4 with the SC!!!!! someone had friggen swapped in the GT500 drivetrain!! i was kinda wondering why that little Stang felt so much faster than my Camaro. here's the kicker though, the guys at the dealer thought it was just a GT vert with a supercharger on top. they had it priced at $15,495!

well i guess it kinda makes sence now. there was a GT500 that wrecked here about a month ago, and i guess the drivetrain was still fine. but still, that is one badass Mustang. ultimate sleeper too

 

Dude, no f*cking way, I live like only 8hrs away from Sioux Falls (Minot, ND). I had no idea you lived there....

 

You should buy that thing. Do you have any idea what someone would charge for a car with that swap? You could buy it and resell it for more than you paid, if you didn't want it.

 

so u re saying u road tested and pushed all the way to 140mph? was the dealer salesman with u in the car?U did not notice any boost gauge or any wideband on the stang? did u take a picture of it?

 

had all the factory guages, nothing else

and yes, the salesman was in the car with me. i auto-x race with him, so it's all good

and my phone doesn't have a camera, my regular camera was at home. i'll see if i can get pics of it tomorrow.
