im getting ready to havea string of races with a few of my buddies. its on closed streets, no traffic, all is good. what should i do to prepare my car? as far as weight loss goes, i have to lose the passsenger seat, spare tire, back seat, subs, and extra junk. is there anything else that i should drop? anything else i should do in general? i wont be able to ice te intake or anything. can anyone reccommend something i can do out of my garage that will help at all?

The more you pull out the less weight in the car....which equals more speed

Only advise I can give you is don't fill your gas tank up. 1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs. You do the math.

Good luck and don't get hurt.

[ul][*]Unbolt or completely remove your front sway bar. That will get you better weight transfer and plant the rear tires better.[*]Over inflate your front tires for less rolling resistance.[*]I would experiment with tire pressure for the rear tires to see what gives you the best contact patch. street tires aren't meant to run at low pressure so don't go too low.[*]If you are getting good traction then run like a quarter tank of gas to save weight. If you are spinning the tires then use more gas to get some weight over the rear tires where it will help you get traction.[/ul]
Drive carefully on the way home when the racing is over! Since you've set your car up for straight line performance your car is going to handle crap now compared to what your used too. Its easy to forget that when your driving the same same car and same roads you've riden over and over, especially when pumped up from a night of racing. Remember your car isn't going react they way it has every day before when you dive into a turn hard.

well im looking for more of a road racing setup rather than a drag setup. so you reccommend higher tire pressure? like 40-45psi?
