haha "no use, I suck."
that made me laugh.
Anyway, is it hard to shift in third with normal driving?

For some reason I can tag 3rd with ease on some trys and on others I just don't move it over far enough? Who knows...as i've said I am far from a good driver... If 2nd wasn't straight down from 1st I would probably miss that gear too!! haha
^^^^I have the same problems. Even with the WS6Store short stick. That's why I got a whole new shifter. On the plus side, the Hurst shifter was at my door when I got home for lunch. I think it's also got a WS6Store short stick. It's definately not the stock stick atleast. I think I'm going to put it in my car later and see how I like it. Then, when I get the other one, I'll try it out too, to see which I like better. Then, I'll sell whichever one I don't use. Let me know if you do want one. I'll have a for sale thread up on qcaaf.com whenever I do figure it out though.
The Hurst shifter I have on my Toploader is nice. If it can get that clunky old 4spd to shift smooth and positively, then a good Hurst on your trans should help oodles. Mine has a VERY positive feel to the shifting, and goes cleanly from gear to gear. If I miss a shift it's because of driver error.

Nope, it goes into third smooth, no trouble at all...I frequently hit the spot right between1st and third, I am not brave enough to try slamming the gear (in case I happen to 1st at WOT)...

Both my Z and my STI shift great. They both "spring" over the the 3-4 slot when I push the shifter out of 2nd. I just use the heel of my palm and push up - it springs over and goes right into third. The only time I ever missed a shift into 3rd in either car was when I "monkey gripped" the **** and tried to slam it into gear. It's better for me to never grip the ****. I cup my 4 fingers and pull into 2 and 4th and use the heel of the palm for 3rd and 5th.

That might be the problem...when I just cruise I slide it into 3rd... when I am racing I tend to slam the shifter around like you described. Hmm.. Have to try this out tonight..make sure it is in fact just me sucking..

I dunno man. I drove a T/A and I didn't have that problem. I guess you gotta just practice and have a feel for it. Clearly you were doing somthing right, seeing as you ran a 13.1.

The car has a 12.99 in it, I don't.
