ok guys ... dont attack me ... but i have a question ... in a race who will win? a completely stock 07-08 350z (the new model ... not the old 04-06 ones) or a STOCK new mustang gt??

i think the mustang ... but i know several 350z owners who like to talk a lot of crap and dont necessarily like mustangs ... and claim they have "spanked" the new mustangs .... again ... dont attack me ... just want to know what u guys think or if you have any experience in racing these ... then again the answers on here might be bias as well ... but oh well ... The stock 2008 GT does 0-60 in 5.3 seconds compared to a minimum 5.6 for the Z. So, if it's a drag race, the GT spanks it; but on a road course, it's a different story.

Mustang in a Drag race is a full second faster in the 1/4 mile.

 

they are pretty evenly matched, i have a friend w/ a g35 which is pretty similar to a 350z and it was pretty even before i put in my SC. i would say in the 1/4 mile the GT will win by1-2 car lengths, but freeway pulling it is pretty even. on a road course the z will win. they are great cars tho.

 

The 350 does not have the torque of the Mustang, and it would not even be close. The mustangs run 13's and the 350's run 14's.

You can tell 350 owners off, becuase the G35's are even faster. I worked for nissan for a bit, and its something many people dont know. But the 4-seater, longer wheel base G35 will actually nudge out the 1/4 mile by about .1 seconds over the 350.

Comparable horsepower yes, but torque is what gets it.

 

Stock 07 Mustang vs a stock 350 Z the 350 Z will win. The power to weight ratio on the Mustang is very low compared to the 350 Z. Also, beware of the G37 Infinity they are faster than the 350 Z. I come across the G37 and SS Camero all time because they mistake my car as a 04 GT and not 04 Mach I. They find out the hard way when they lose sight of my license plate.

 

They might beat your stang...but they wouldnt stand a chance against a new style...

and if they win...its cause the driver of the stang is terrible...

and an SS camaro is no faster...

sorry, but the new gen. stangs are much faster than teh SS and the 350Z

Could be a drivers race; however since the GT has a big Tq adv it should inch out. My buddy has a 05 350z and i've taken him all the time.
