They might beat your stang...but they wouldnt stand a chance against a new style...

and if they win...its cause the driver of the stang is terrible...

and an SS camaro is no faster...

sorry, but the new gen. stangs are much faster than teh SS and the 350Z
Shooter, you really need to do some research on the new (2007+) 350z. People have posted time slips as fast as 13.1@106-107mph with an apparently stock Z. Only a couple people have run times that fast, but 13.3-13.4 is not uncommon. The fastest times posted on here are 13.4 and a 13.2 is the fastest i've ever heard off from a stock s197 gt (that was a professional).

Like I said, drivers race.

Ya; i forgot they have like dual intakes now. So a new 08 should inch away pretty well from the GT. As fair as 05 and 06 350z; the 06 had more hp but less tq. Almost an even trade; so one really not faster then the other.

Mustang in a Drag race is a full second faster in the 1/4 mile.
No, the new 07-08 350Z's have gone 13.1-13.2 stock in the 1/4 mile, which is enough to beat the average S197. Stock for stock its a drivers race in the 1/4 mile.

The 350 does not have the torque of the Mustang, and it would not even be close. The mustangs run 13's and the 350's run 14's.

You can tell 350 owners off, becuase the G35's are even faster. I worked for nissan for a bit, and its something many people dont know. But the 4-seater, longer wheel base G35 will actually nudge out the 1/4 mile by about .1 seconds over the 350.

Comparable horsepower yes, but torque is what gets it.
The S197 Mustangs run mid 13's on average with a good driver in a 5spd. The new 07-08 350Z's run mid 13's on average too with a good driver. The fastest stock S197 went 13.2 and the fastest 07 350Z went 13.1 stock. So its a drivers race. And NO the G35's are not faster than the new 350Z's.

Stock 07 Mustang vs a stock 350 Z the 350 Z will win. The power to weight ratio on the Mustang is very low compared to the 350 Z. Also, beware of the G37 Infinity they are faster than the 350 Z. I come across the G37 and SS Camero all time because they mistake my car as a 04 GT and not 04 Mach I. They find out the hard way when they lose sight of my license plate.
The new S197 Mustangs vs the new 07-08 350Z's are drivers races in the 1/4 mile. And your Mach must be modded or you're running into sh*tty drivers because a Camaro SS, if its an LS1 will beat your Mach barely and there arent too many G37's on the road yet.

What Camaro SS' are you running into? If its the 98-02, with the LS1, they will beat an S197 Stang stock for stock all day long. And the new Stangs are a drivers race against the new 350Z's.

350z's stock are low 14 second cars, stock mustangs are mid to high 13 second cars. I raced a guy at work today with a 6 speed G35 and pulled on him by 5 car lengths easily. I drove a 350Z last year when I was in the market for a 2 seater, nice car but nowhere near the power of a Stang.
The new 350Z's are a mid 13 second car on average and have ran 13.1-13.2 stock in the 1/4 mile. A g35 is a totally different car than the new 350Z's.

I can't believe anyone is calling this one a driver's race. It's only a driver's race if the driver of the Z is John Force and the driver of the GT is a toddler. The GT should spank the Z without much effort.
You must not know much about the new 07-08 350Z's. They are mid 13 second cars and have gone 13.1-13.2 stock in the 1/4 mile.

Thank you!!!

For the record a stock 07 GT Mustang doesn't stand a chance against a stock SS Camaro. The SS Camaro has 325 HP and 350 lb/tq. The GT has 300 HP and 305 lb/tq. do the math. Only the Mach I and the SVT Cobra are betting the SS Camero until the 09 model arrive. People keep sleeping on the Mach I's and I will show everyone what a Ford DOHC 5.2 modified can do.
Stock for stock the Mach1 and 99/01 Cobras will barely lose to a Camaro SS with the LS1. And you dont even no sh*t about your own car, much less other peoples cars. If you have a Mach 1 with the stock motor, its a 4.6L DOHC, not 5.2, LOL.

Ok, there are apperantly some S197 owners in this thread who are badly misinformed. An S197 GT will lose more often than it will win against a 98-02 LS1 F-Body. Equal driving the LS1 has the advantage. A stock S197 GT is almost a dead even driver's race with an equally driven 07+ 350Z. 06 and earlier have less power, so the edge goes to the S197.

Go back at the 2nd page of this thread and look at all of my quotes, LOL.
