I don't understand alot of fords thinking, I would love to see a North American version of the falcon as well
I guess the projected sales just don't justify all the work required to bring them over here?

Mazda (which Ford owns 33% of) has the Mazdaspeed3 here. Ford probably doesn't want it's own sport compact to compete with thier own Mazda here.

I hate the new Focus. The SVT Focus was a nice car, but for whatever reason Ford decided not to offer a sport compact. I want to see Ford bring the European Focus to the states.

Have you seen the Steeda Focus? I think it looks incredible and it should handle like a go-kart. I think it only has like 155-160 hp but it has nearly all of Steeda's suspension parts put into it. Not to mention I like the styling. It is all personal preference though.

I was checking out some info on my daughter's Focus on aforum. They truly must be jealous of our cars, because all they could say was insulting comments. One guy was bragging about how his 2002 SVT Focus beat a V6 Mustang. I couldn't help myself but ask the guy what year was that Mustang. He wasn't sure, he thinks it was a New Edge....but likely was the generation before that!
Another guy said he thought Ford making the V6 was an insult to the Mustang name, that you didn't see any V6 Corvettes. I wanted to say, "and you drive WHAT?"
I did give them a link to a rumored V6 Corvette.

Then they were dissing the GT.....saying how they don't like to waste their gas on racing them!

The Steeda Focus, has an optional Nitrous kit installed on it by the dealer too... that's kinda nice...
But, the fact that you're taking them seriously actual humors me. It's like when a Cavabalt (stock one) said that with a pulley he was going to hang with my in my Cobra.. on twisties and straight away... I walked himon the straightaway and told him to try to keep up on my bumper on a windy road I walked him both times...then told him at least he has more gas then me... Don't really waste your breath on these guys - or your finger strength, lol... not worth it.

You do know, that stock for stock, an '02 SVT Focus would give an '05+ V6 Stang a very goodrun for its money, right? Yeah, they're stupid for dissing Mustangs. But, they're still decently quick, and will beat about any V6 Stang made. An SVT Focus would beat a 99-04 V6 Stang easily. Andone would absolutely monkey stomp a single port sixxer.

No offense, but comparing a SVT Focus to a bottom feeder Mustang is like comparing a GT500 to a Taurus.
