Killed Riced out Civic and Int
In my school there are about 19 integras, and about 11 civics (no joke at all). Well, they all think they're fast, but everyone was talking soo much crap about how this one kid with a civic with a 190 hp Prelude engine could smoke me. On Friday we saw each other at a local restaurant and decided to go put some of this to rest. We couldnt go from a stop, but we both started at about a 5mph roll. We took off and i missed 2nd (geez), but when i found the gear, i pulled on him like no other. From then to about 60 mph (speed limit was 55) i had him bu at least 2 car lengths. After we we got done, we met up and he said "i guess you were right, yours is faster". So now thats settled.

Then yesterday on the way to school, another one of the kids i know pulls up in his integra and starts to play with me, i had just pulled out onto the road (speed limit 55) so i was going slow. He dropped it and started to pull away, i just couldnt let this happen. So i dropped 2 gears and pulled hard to about 45mph and it was overand he never even got close to catching up. The funny thing was, in his car he had just himself( about 150 lbs), and in my car, i had 4 guys over 200 lbs, so a total of over 850 lbs of just people. And he still didnt have a chance. People might say that a little weight doesnt matter that much, but when theres 850 lbs of people in the car, its def. noticable.

I just thought id share this because i thought it was a little funny. i now have the respect of most of the import owners at my school. And i dont want to hear "you shouldnt be racing" or "there were too many people in the car" because 1. we never got over the speed limit. 2 there were no other cars in front of us. 3 there were no side streets for cars to pull out from. It was a straight, wide open road.

I just have to say that a 5mph roll is the absolute worst place to start a race in a honda. Most likely, the driver is just gonna press the gas, and he is too low in his rpm band to have any torque. So he doesn't start accelerating until he gets up to 20 mph. If he launches the car, he can remedy this problem completely, and make for much better competition. So for a good race, go from a dead stop, or a real roll, like 20 mph.

A honda racer that knows how to drive his car, I know cause I was once one, can conpensate for the rolling start. You just stuff the clutch rev and dump, only takes a second to build revs in the motor. Leaves a nice little squeal and small patch and is just as good if not better than a dead stop launch.

Good kill by the way. Right after I got my GT I raced a civic with a very similar set-up to what I use to have. Granny shifitng because the car was still in it's break in period I took 2 car lengths by 45mph. Got to love it.

No disrespect, but you got like 90 hp stock, even though you got a light car, 90hp won't get you much past 90 on the interstate lolz. What have you done to it?
