Ford Lightning
What times do they run stock? 99-04? I was looking at them, and they are Fairly cheap. What is a good price to pay for one? I saw them locally for 15-16 grand. And what about insurance? How much would that be a month?

I thought they were capable of mid 13's but traction is an issue with them so most drivers don't see that kind of time that often.
depending on your credit type AA, A, etc. you might be looking at 350-400 a month for 48 months or so.

Insurance rates are based on an individual bases. You need to call your insurance company to find that out. A buddy of mine that lives in Houston had a white03 or 04for about a year. He liked it, but I never once heard him rave about it.
They run mid to low 13's depending on driver, weather, etc... They're like Cobras - all made the same in different colors,... go get a vin# off of autotrader and get a quote from your insruance... you can bet unless you change anything - that your insruance is going to be right on...
To figure out how much it's going to cost you here...

What you can do is this..
Vehicle Price
plus
Add ons (warranty, gap insurance, etc)
minus
Trade allowance
times
Your local tax rate
plus
tax/tag/title
plus
Dealer fee (if applicable)
Minus
Down payment/rebates
Equals
Out the door price...
Now plug the Out the door price into the "purchase price" field of that website, and put everything at zero, then hit calculate, then enter in your int rate/terms and it'll spit out a monthly payment... probably within 5 bucks.

Don't know what they average at, but the stock ones i've raced, beat me in my GT by half a car length at most(2 out of 3 i've raced), i beat the other one by one car length.
I'd say, capable of mid high 13's, though 14-flat would be more consistent.

Mid to Low 13's
Try to get an '01 and above.
'99-'00 have intercooler issues that were fixed in later models, Steel drive shaft, 3.55 gears, red tails and rated at a modest 360hp
'01-'02 have Aluminum drive shaft, 3.73 rear, clear tails and rated at 380hp
'03-'04 have all the same things as '01-'02 but they also have the 8 threaded plug design. The previous years only had FOUR plug threads in the head...Popping plugs is possible with the early models. They also have a higher payload capacity and their stance is JACKED UP in the back.
The 20 hp jump is due to the bigger MAF and leaner tune from FORD.
