So you're telling me that if one of "these guys" ran up on another fast car on the street and engaged in a race that they would short shift, or let out, even if they're neck and neck? Wouldn't try and win but concede a loss to simply protect their car? Even though they have no idea that it would break, just a risk.
Give me a break. Don't mod a fast car and race it if you can't afford to fix it. The last thing I wanna do is outrun someone only for them to tell me they let out because they were scared....what's the point in even racing?

Easy...it's sometimes a matter of conserving the car,or not wanting to risk grenading a clutch, motor, etc. I know plenty of guys with nicely modded cars that have built themfor the purpose of enjoying them on the street. Occassionally they take them to the track forfun, but are typically a bit on the conservative side with their cars.

Thank you for seeing reason though. They run the hell out of their cars on the street and when they go to the track and suck(it's all practice) they blame it on being conservative. See this is a lot of posts lately. Hey do you still go to Mooresville? I was down last week and did 2 passes, they both sucked and the track prep was **** like always.

That's right, but it was worth saying out loud. Bare in mind the 09's will have a 6-speed and an available 3.90 rear end with LSD. That will really make a difference. Should be all that's neede to make basement 13 second car into 12 second car.

Which is slightly heavier and has been known to run high 12's on occassion.
