Default Cat vs. Goat

Looks like my neighbor purchased a 2004 GTO [:-]

Mine:
2000 GT Auto
-Flowmaster 40's weld-ins
-BBK O/R H
-XCal II Tune
-FRPP 4.10 gears
-SVT Fuel Pump
-Steeda UDPs
-C&L Plenum
-C&L 75MM TB
-K&N Filter W/ Air Silencer removed
-Bosche performance plugs(+4 Iridium)
-Front & Rear sway bars
-Pass. Seat, BackSeat, Jack/Spare removed
My Best 1/4: 15.183 @ 94.6 MPH <4500 FT. ^ Sea Level []

His:
2004 GTO Auto
-5.7L LS1
-Puke yellow paint
-?

From what I've heard, the Goats are somewhat difficult to launch for a uneducated driver(which he is). How will I fare agaisnt him assuming he's stock?

Any idea of what you would run at sea level corrected? That is a hidious time but I understand why. You probably have a mid 13 second car and with the LS1 GTO's mods, he is probably a few tenths slower. Good luck, and I think you'll win.

The 2004 GTO is good for 13.6 times. It could be a decent race.

Driver's race. The higher the speeds go though, the better his chances...

What would you rather have? A car that can run the 1/4 in the high 11's and has a top speed of 140 or a car that runs 13's and can eventually run to 160? I just don't get the top end speed thing. It's not like we live in Europe. If I am "street racing", the race will be long over before it gets past 100 mph.

Im gonna say drivers race- most launch problems come with the manuals, and he has an auto. could give you problems.

The auto's are harder to launch than the manuals....electronic throttle body doesn't care what car its in.

Eh, this should favor the GT until they reach speeds of 160mph because by then the LS1 should pull some cars.
