Disclaimer: I'm new to cars/racing. However I have a friend who is a little full of himself. He drives a 3.5 L V6 supercharged 94 LeBaron and makes off like he's hot crap. He was also bragging how he beat a Mustang off the light a few days ago. I was talking to him about whose car is the faster, and he was arguing that even though his car is heavier, all his power is in torque; ergo he has an edge. What do you guys think? For the record, I drive a stock '99 Mustang and both cars are auto.

 

if you got a v6 forget about it.... you got like 150 hp

Yeah no luck there, but a driver mod will alway give you an edge so you never know till you race.

 

iirc, they ere either 4cyl turbo or V6 NA. not both...

1:There was no 3.5 V6 in a LeBaron. The 3.0 V6 was around 145 hp and good for low 16's/ high 15's on a really good day.

2: Who the hell would waste thier time and money supercharging one?

3: The Chrysler FWD transmission would shred itself if someone did decide to supercharge one.

 

Yes since I drive a 1999 stang I have about 190ish hp, and I don't know his car is a 3.5 or not, all I cans say is that's what he said. Am I going to do pretty well race-wise though if I put on a new exhaust and CAI?

 

do you mean a 2.5L engine, and turbocharged? ive seen many different variations of the "turbo dodges", and lebarons did come with some factory turbo models. but the V6s were not very strong, and i would be surprised to see one get anywhere near the 15s.

 

Is it possible his car had an engine swap? I'm kinda happy to hear that I have a good shot @ beating him though...but there's one iissue...driving experience in "race" situations...I have none [&o]
