This isn't exactly a call out...but I am curious (since I see a lot of posting about what Mach 1s are capable of butrarely any timeslips), this is the top 25 bone stock Mach 1s from the Mach 1 registry site.Just for comparisons sake I would love to see where some of the Mach 1 guys here fall on the list. (eliminates the 'my brothers uncles neighbor did this')...

i've never got to run a full 1/4.
but eventually i will...all we have is 1/8 with 1 1/4 mile track in the state

 

FWIW, I want everyone to know this isn't a 'callout' thread...I have been thinking about doing this for various cars we typically talk about on here....I am trying to build a stock list for S197/LS1 cars (it's a PITA getting accurate info though)...

 

My best time when totally stock and still on the original gatorback tires was a 13.7, this is an auto Mach.

 

Hrrmmm.. best I've ever run was a 13.166 @ a hair over 106, on a roughly 1.9-ish 60, though this was probably 3 yrs ago, and was pretty much a one-off fluke time that I was never able to repeat. Most of the time I averaged about 13.2-3, on 1.9-2.0 ish 60, @ about 104-105 ish.. So I'd probably be somewhere between 5 and 8 on that list.. All my slips are probably buried in my storage unit in VA Beach though, so I don't expect anybody to take those too seriously till I get back and can actually post some new ones..

 

I haven't run mine at the track yet... Rather not embaress myself with the cheap tires they have on here... lol... one of these days i'll get a run in - it's not like my car is stock - so I can't give a baseline....

I have not run at the track and still debating to go one day. It's a 4hr round trip for me, so I'll go if some of my friends go b/c I wanna see how well they can drive their cars (new altima 3.5 stick and a few other people I'm not close with, mostly a couple mustangs and a few asian cars). I could care less if I get time slips or not, b/c my car is mostly stock and I've only been driving a stick for about a month and still learning a few things.

 

I'll be honest, I didn't keep my Mach stock long enough to get much practice before I started modding. For the month or two that I was bone stock down to the silencer, I ran a one time best of 13.46 at 103-4. The other runs ranged from 13.5 to 13.7 on average at 103-105. I feel that if I had of kept practicing with it in stock form, that I would've gotten better with the car and started running some lower 13s. I still have trouble running consistent ETs. I blame the 4.10s and street tires, but we all know thats just my excuse for sucking.

 

I'm happy you came up with this thread S8ER, it seems a lot of people don't realize mach1's are pretty close to LS1's from the factory(obviously ls1 has the edge though), everyone knows the LS1 was underrated but not the mach1. I was on ls1lst.com and they were talking about a T/A vs a mach1 and everyone said how he'd slaughter it, I was the only one who fought for the mach trying to say it will be closer than they believe but they just thought I was a dumb ford fanboy.
