I gues it's a two sided story... some people don't realize the Mach 1s potential is low 13s...and for some reason (as i've found on the Mach 1 regitry) some Mach 1 owners despite running slower times clutch the fact that it's a dead heat drivers race. (Even the Automatic guys)...

If both sides have to face reality I am good with the end result.

 

Last time I was at the track I saw a guy with an almost stock mach(weld in flows) run like a 13.5. He said it was his frist time at the track and earlier in the day was running mid to low 14s. I guess it really is about driving skill with those cars.

 

yeah, but from what i've heard of poeple saying a low 13 stock mach is a little on the rare side, the majority I'm sure is anywhere in the mid-to high 13

 

Low 13s for the M5 Machisn't uncommon, very low like 13.1-13.2 might be uncommon. If you get high 13s with an M5 mach 1 I think you need a lot of practice.

 

Last year I saw yellow mach with exhaust and drs run 12.9s. Those Machscan be made to run!!

 

The previous owner of my car ran a 13.68 @102 stock.

 

I watched a clown make 13.9 after 13.9 pass with a 5sp Mach 1 with weld ins.

I'd love to get the chance to take a stock Mach to the dragstrip on several occasions just to see what happens.

 

the mach 1 was rated at 305hp and 310hp from the factory, but they really put down about 325hp.or around 270-280rwhp bonestock some a little more some a little less, the autos put out 260rwhp b/c the tranny sucks all the power out of it. mid 13's is the most comon for a mach depending on DA. my first pass with melanie was a 9.2 (1/8), im consistantly in the 8.8's only ~20 passes with her, but on the street, most people dont know how to driive ANY car, and the advantage goes to the one that can drive, when both drivers are = then it comes down to the car.

Mach vs LS1 = drivers race....I will set up a race with an exhaust/ cai LS1 and get a video as soon as i can.
