Default S197 V6 vs. 350z

So I drive an 05 automatic v6 stang. It's stock for now. Here's the story.

So I turn left onto a street and see this 350z pull up at the light behind me at the intersection i just went through. It has a bodykit, racing rims, I hear it's exhaust, the whole works.

I slowed down to see if he would race and I kept my eye on the rear view mirror. He totally knew i wanted to race, so he guns it right off the light and switches lanes to pull up next to me. I gun it at the perfect time and he gets right next to me. It seemed like we were even from about a 40 mph roll all the way to 90. Once we hit about 80, the road curved. It wasn't a turn, just kind of a curve in the road. I was really surprised because I got ahead through this section, he must not have been going all out. So after the curves, we kinda play around a little bit and get to the next stop light. I talked to him at the light and he said he just had a few bolt ons... intake, tune, exhaust, you know.

We went from a stop at this light, and he just roasted me. By the end of the strip, he was probably 4 cars ahead of me. At least. I was really impressed.

Overall even though I got smashed in the real part of the race, I still did pretty good at the beginning and had a ton of fun. It made my day

So I have a few questions...
- I've read that with an intake, tune, exhaust, gears, and an LSD on my s197 that I could have a close race with cars like 350z's and g35's. Is this true? Because if it is, I would be so happy. That 350z was so fast.
- Also, The fastest I got the car was about 114. I know it is governed at somewhere around 118. If I get the Xcal 3 tuner it removes the governer right? Because I know my car had more in it.

And please... If you're just going to say how bad street racing is... then please don't post

maybe you heard that a mustang gt with bolt ons could come close with 350z's and g35's, because a v6 mustang is not that fast. A v6 mustang has 210 crank hp, and the 350Z has somewhere around 300 hp crank (its a v6 also!).

+1^ Your going to need some more than just a couple bolts on to even hang with a well driven stock 350Z.

Maybe you heard you could hang with the early 350z, but the new ones you might need a few bolt ons if you have a GT, the newer 350z will eat you up and spit you outunless you have a serious power adder.

Um, stock for stock an S197 GT will slowly walk away from a 350z and a G35(heavier than 350z) until we shift into 5th. With basic boltons it would be ugly.

Noobs

The new ones have better top end as far as im concerned trapping 106-107 with greater powerband. I think it would be the other way around stock for stock.
