PSI (pounds per square inch) = lbs of boost. Amount of forced air being put into the engine usually used in reference to a supercharger or turbocharger. A "shot" is used in reference to a nitrous injected car, the bigger the "shot" the more wheel HP you gain.

It should be noted that boost is measured in PSIG, pr lbs per square inch gauge, which is the pressure above ambient as measured on a gauge. So 6lbs of boost, is 6psi of pressure ABOVE whatever current atmospheric is.
