LOL.. pipe.. don't you mean straw? LOL.. Though as for making my own pipe, can't exactly do that working for uncle sam.. [&o]lol

Honestly it'd probably be cheaper just to get a 67 fastback in half decent condition and do a 351W or 380HO build on it.. bored out to a 427, with bolt ons maybe.. Still, that's about 25k in the making, not including the original price of the car.. lol Eeehhhh.. Everybody does 67's though. I'd still like to get a 70 olds 442 and do a little resto-mod work on it..

Wouldn't it be funny if GM were lying to us and placed the 638hpLS9 inside of the Caddilac CTSVinstead of the 551hp LSA..

Not really.. I still can't afford it.. LOL It would be fast yes, but I still don't like the looks of the CTS-V's.. that's just me though.. If I'm paying upwards of 80k for a car, I'm getting ViperRT10 or a loaded 08 M3.. Heck for that price you could get a used DB7 or DB9 and throw a good tune on it..

Ehhh.. so maybe I was a little off on Land Rover actually making any money for Ford.. at least in the US anyway.. The European sales weren't so bad though, you have to admit that.. Though you're right about it most likely being a money pit because the US is Ford's biggest market. Still, you could've sold off Land Rover, and kept Jaguar and still cut most of your losses right there I think.. Unless the profit margin for Jag was just too small to justify it, which may have been the case. Ford DOES still own Lincoln, but regardless, it removed itself completely from the high end luxury market by selling Jaguar, because Jaguar was the only ford brand in the same market as Mercedes and BMW etc.. Complete recusing yourself completely from a competitive market that's still making money is never a good thing in any business.. Ford's execs could've done the same thing for Jag they did with their own brand.. It wouldn't have been that hard to turn around.. Land Rover though, I agree with getting rid of..

well, thats true SUb the Euro market is booming for all the American auto makers esp ford....IMO the reason ford is doing this is not only to save money but to readjust their quality....as in able to put more money that was elswhere directed (into landrover/jag/aston martin) into a higher quality product...KISS right. and by having a higher quality they can then increase sales and then grow slowly rather than boom like they and all the American auto makers did.

It's just an educated guess, but think about it. The CTS-V is one of Cadillac's most expensive models.. Then you add in the possible gas guzzler tax (I honestly don't know what the regulations on this are, though if it's a supercharged LSA under the hood it's possible I think..), plus dealer mark-up (which DOES vary, I"ll concede that..), and I would certainly wager that you're looking at a minimum of between 65-75k sticker price.. It might notbe 80k exactly, but it's close enough to be in the same "pricing ball-park" as cars like the Viper, DB7, M3, and E55 AMG's.. I'd be surprised to see a loaded one go for less than that..

enough about the CTS-V, if they're going to put the LSA in anything it'll be the XLR
