4.0 Stang

After work I lined up with my buddies 06 mustang GT. His car is completely stock and it is auto. My car is also auto with the mods listed in my sig. We got lucky and caught a light when we were leaving work so we had to go at it. When the light hit green we both just floored it. As soon as Igot on itmy rpms jumped up to 3,000 rpms and started to spin untill i got traction about 2 secs later. We were both still right next to each other thru 1st. As we hit 2nd he slowly started to gain on me and by the time we hit the middle/top of 3rd gear he was about 2 1/2 -3 cars ahead of me. All day at work he was talking about how he was going to smoke me and I had no chance, but when I pulled up to him after the race he was like I guess I was wrong. Just goes to show you that you can keep up with them off the line if you got some mods. This is the 2nd gtive raced. The other one we went from like a 35 mph roll to about 85. I got on it first then the other guy did and he had about 2 cars on me by 85 mph but it helped that i got the jump on him.

FWIW 3 cars by the middle of 3rd gear isn't really a close race.

Nice run, i guess the 4.0 responds to mods as well as the GT.

Ive only raced 2 4.0's with my Z, i got them off the line and they had no hope for catching up. (Stock 4.0's ofcourse)

My Z also gets a jump on my GT(thanks to my boatanchors!)when lined up, doesn't take long for the GT to reel in and pass though.

x2, if the race would have gone to 100-105mph, he would have ended up with a 5-6 car win.

That and the fact that auto GT's don't have to fight for traction. They hook right the fvck up...

I'm pretty sure that auto's spin. My 01 GT is an auto and spins off the line.

Sounds about right to me. A solid high 13 sec car vs a solid high 14 sec car.

It didn't bone stock, unless your's and mine idea of "spin" is completely different...
