Well, tonight was a good night. My buddy with the '98 SS and I decided to head over to the next town (Galesburg, IL) to go Terminator hunting. We couldn't find the guy with the Terminator. But, we still found some good races. I only did one race though. There was another LT1 Z28 out. It was white. We were all pulled into some lot off the highway we were racing on. He said he wanted to run someone before he went home. I asked what he had done. He said it had an intake, exhaust, and 3.42's. His car was an auto. He didn't bother asking what I had done. lol. So we go out and turn around. He honks three times. I launched hard, real hard. I spun the sh*t outta the tires through 1st, and he got about a car on me, off the launch. I hit 2nd and spun a little, then just started a steady pull. We were even, at the top of 2nd. I hit 3rd and just kept on pulling. I let off at 120, when he flashed his brights to let me know he let off. I had a good 5 or 6 cars on him at that point. We pulled back into the lot, and he said that he didn't expect me to pull like that, especially when he got me so bad off the launch. Then, I told him my mods and he understood. lol. So, it was a good night for me, despite the car turning over 129k miles tonight.

Other notable races:
'98 SS auto (3.73's, lid, K&N filter, shorties, no muffler, tuned) vs. LS1 T/A 6speed (mods unknown, but it was really f-in loud)
They raced a couple times, both from a dig. I was right behind them both times. It was one hell of a site and sound. lol. The T/A won both races by about a car. We wanted to find out his mods, but he took off after the races because he was afraid that cops would show up.

They raced once, from a dig. The Cobra hung on the launch. But, from the looks of it, the T/A started pulling not long after. The kid in the Cobra tried saying that he only lost by a fender. But, it looked like more than that. And given his mods compared to how the T/A beat the SS, I'd say it was by substantially more than that.

I was hoping to get a run in with the Cobra. But, didn't want to risk another race, in case cops started showing up. I'm hoping we're going to go back next weekend and that Terminator will be out and those other guys again too. That way I can get a run with the Cobra and see both LS1's run the Termi.

 

race the cobra. If all he has is exhaust you should have him covered. I hung really close to one stock for stock. Dead even up to about 55 and then he walked about a car from there to 100. Let of cause he was walking faster and faster.

 

yeah unless the cobra is geared than you should be pretty good against him, as everyone knows 96-98's can be a little dreadful off the line. I killed a 6spd. z28 in my auto but I think his opti or something was robbing power because I know I shouldn't have beaten him that much, I figured it would have been more or less a car or two but it was about atleast 4 haha
