Gotcha, I was pretty muchbasing my opnionon the couple of runs I've had with a friend and a cousin. I was able to pull on both of them up to a certain point, like 125-130, but after that, both cars stayed where they were, the lightly modded one actually caught up with me by 140mph and was easing around by 155 (he had no limiter). 4.10s and aerodynamics prolly played a part, but still.

I know what you guys are saying though....

I agree too, the 2.73 gears on LT1 was just horrible

Mine stock made it up to the 150 indicator and a bit past (lord knows how 'accurate' that was but still)... It was aero limited at that point and wouldn't push anymore. Didn't really take that long to get there from a 70mph start... 130ish is when it seemed to drop off a bit then by 145 it was crawling...the last bit (150+) took forever.

I still miss my LT1

Mid 13s is definetely more than enough to put a car length or three on an LT1. They are 14.0 cars stock with pretty strong top end once they get in the triple digits. It probably would've of been a tighter race if he had of held it down from a dig. Peak torque comes in at 2k for those guys.
LT1s aren't known for their top end...Most don't even make power above 5000rpm..
Aha! Not true but then again I am modded. It's true though LT1's are better 0-100. They don't do so well above that.

Keep in mind there is a difference between top of the tach power, and abilty to pull to high speeds. To some extent anyways...

I've seen many 03-04 Cobra's with 4:30's..I'm sure an LT1 with 4:10's would have less to worry about...

Most LT1's that I've seen go with 3.73's.
