Default went to the track today.

Ran a new best of 10.93 @ 131.16. should do better with a little tweaking of the gear ratio.

60' 1.784
330' 4.809
1/8 7.203 @ 100.16
1000 9.214
1/4 10.93 @ 131.16

had a best 1/8th mile of 7.183 @99.08 and a best trap speed of 132mph. should be able to pick up a bit more time with some gearing changes. the car is bogging badly out of the whole on the 2 step so to get the 1..7-1.8 60's there is alot of clutch work involved. if i up the gear ratio and can prevent the boggin it should see some 1.5 60's. also the shift to 4th is almost right at the stripe. a taller gear will put me into 4th earlier and make the power pull and acceleration to the finish stronger.

Or a slightly taller gear to trap right at the top of 3rd, and try launching harder(provided that won't make it bog worse). How are you launching it right now?

got the 2 step set at 5400rpm. makes about 7#'s of boost on the line if you sit on it for a while. a clutch dump will result in a major bog and about a 2.7 60' time. if i would let the clutch out quickly and feather it through the launch i could get a 1.7-1.8. i know i am losing time by not being able to dump it hard. and even the feathering is robbing some power once it is rolling.ideally i would be able to leave at 15 psi and just fly out of the whole but i have the 2 step about maxed out as it is.

I like the idea of droppping a gear to get to more out of 4th at the big end. The taller gear would give you better short times and easier launching at the line. Or it should atleast. If this was your first time with the 2 step I would practice a few more times and then go from there. Good numbers/times BTW.

Have you dared to try it on street tires?[8D]

Fast car, man. You'd blow my doors off! I thought it was impressive that my car picks up on average 27 mph on the back half of the track. Yours picked up 31 mph!

I got nothing for you - you'd light my *** up!

Great run. Do you have a solid rear axle in that?

yeah it is a 9" car now.one run it actually went 99 in the 1/8th and a bit over 132 in the 1/4 picking up 33mph. Ireally expect to see it getting alot closr to the 9's when i can get the gearing figured out. it just was definitely not the ideal gearing yesterday. i know of other cars hitting 107-110 in the 1/8th and 140 in the 1/4. i expect to be there with a little practice and a few tweaks.

Thats crazy, you're going faster in the 1/8th than I go in the whole 1/4.[&:]Good luck with the gearing, and if you have the clutch and trans for it try slicks.
