I was pulling out of the gas station the other day when a brand new black MB SLK55 pulled up next to me at the light. We both kinda looked over at eachother but it wasn't the best place to run because of turnouts even though it was 12am. Anyways we followed eachother down the road when he got behind me and was right on my *** as I was making a right turn. It was a wide open divided road ahead, so I knew he was going to go for the pass as I went around the corner. Sure enough as I'm taking the right turn at about 30 in second gear I see him switch over a lane trying to pass me on the inside. I took the outside lane and just put my foot to the floor. He got on it a little before me and was at my back bumper when I started. I was surprised to see that all the way up to about 85 he stayed right at my back bumper unable to pass me. At the next light we talked for a little while. He goes "Is that the 500?" I just shook my head and said nope just a GT with an intake/tune exhaust. He looked a little puzzled but we both complimented eachothers rides and went out separate ways.

Anyways I really wanted to run him from a stop to see how I would do. I was expecting a loss but because those things run high 12's at 111 and aren't hard to drive with the 7speed auto and ESP. I'm sure with a fair race from a stop the outcome probably would have been different.

He had an extra passenger and I was by myself with a full tank of gas and 2 bags of golf clubs in my trunk.

 

Nice run in and congrats with the victory. I believe the SLK55 has 360 HP. If it was the SL55 it would have been a different story nice it is supercharged.

 

omg is kinda hard to keep up with all the models that they have clk, slk + dif numbers, either way good kill and can somone post accurate numbers for those cars
