got a light w/ a new GTO...the guy told me he had a cam which of course I could hear and he had exhaust...asked him for a run he didnt answer light turns green and he didnt go so I didnt bother launching it so I'm half a car in front still in first gear and then he hits it...I floor first shift into second and he's at my bumber on my 2-3 shift I had a hard time getting her into 3'd...by the time I hit 70mph he blew by me HARD I was like damn...once he blew past he shut down I got next 2 him gave a smile and headed on my way....

I thought my car was loud...but hell his was 10x! louder then mine

 

Good deal. Sounds like he had a mean GTO. Was it the 5.7 or 6.0? Im assuming 6.0 since you said "new GTO".

my friend described the GTO as the Hulk coaster ( the one that launches you)

 

it only have one exhaust so I think it was the 5.7...I should have launched it off the line but instead I waited for him 2 hit it which was like 25feet from the light....I prolly could have held him off a little longer but either way my death would have been certain lol...I was pretty proud of my car tho

 

You sig says C&L upper intake, do you mean plenum? Are you still using the stock intake manifold?

I road that once...it launches you at 80mph....but yea dude....a stock GTO would have given you a good run, but a modded one would prolly hang with..actually beat a s/c SVT
